CT Head Without Contrast - 10/4/24
EXAMINATION: CT HEAD WO CONTRAST, obtained on 10/3/2024 3:20 PM
HISTORY: Left arm weakness worsened in the setting of acute MCA stroke r/o
hemorrhage or worsening.
COMPARISON: Head CT, 10/2/2024
TECHNIQUE: Axial CT of the head. Coronal and sagittal image reconstructions were
performed. An iterative reconstruction technique was used to reduce radiation
dose.
CONTRAST: None.
FINDINGS:
No acute intracranial hemorrhage. Partly confluent small areas of hypodensity
within the right MCA vascular territory corresponding to acute/subacute ischemic
infarct seen on today's brain MRI. No hydrocephalus and no midline shift. No
acute loss of gray-white matter differentiation otherwise. Orbits appear normal.
Trace mucosal thickening involving the paranasal sinuses. The bony calvarium is
intact. The bilateral mastoid air cells are clear.
IMPRESSION:

1. No acute intracranial hemorrhage.
2. Expected interval evolution of ischemic injury within the right MCA vascular
territory.
