MRI Head Without Contrast - 10/3/2024
EXAMINATION: MRI HEAD WO CONTRAST, obtained on 10/3/2024 5:30 AM
INDICATION: CVA
COMPARISON: Head CT, 10/2/2024
TECHNIQUE: Multiplanar multisequence MRI of the brain.
CONTRAST: None.
FINDINGS:
Multiple small foci of restricted diffusion within the right MCA vascular
territory. Findings are compatible with acute/subacute ischemic infarcts. There
is corresponding T2 FLAIR hyperintensity. The midline structures are within
normal limits. The bilateral mastoid air cells are clear. No hydrocephalus and
no midline shift. The major intracranial flow voids are preserved. Trace mucosal
thickening involving the paranasal sinuses. Orbits are normal. No abnormal
signal loss on T2 fast field echo images to suggest intracranial blood products.
Mild nonspecific T2 FLAIR hyperintensities of the white matter.
IMPRESSION:
1. Multiple small foci of acute/subacute ischemic injury within the right MCA
vascular territory. No hemorrhagic conversion.
2. No hydrocephalus, intracranial blood products, or intracranial mass.
3. Findings were communicated to the floor at 0600 on 10/3/2024
