CT Head Without Contrast - 10/2/24

CLINICAL INFORMATION:   WEAKNESS.

COMPARISON:  The examination is compared to the prior July 6, 2021.

A routine volume acquisition of the brain was performed without intravenous

contrast material.  An iterative reconstruction technique was used to reduce

radiation dose.

CT BRAIN:

BRAIN: There are moderate nonspecific white matter findings within both cerebral

hemispheres. There is subtle decreased density within the right corona radiata

which was not present on the previous study suggesting the possibility of

interval vascular insults.

VENTRICLES AND SULCI: There is generalized atrophy with prominence to the

ventricles and sulci. There is no mass effect or midline shift.

EXTRA-AXIAL SPACES:  There are no abnormal intra-axial or extra-axial fluid

collections or hemorrhages.

POSTERIOR FOSSA AND SELLA:  The acoustic complex regions are symmetric.  The

sella is preserved.  The cerebellar tonsils are in normal position.

SINUSES:  Clear.

FACIAL BONES:  Intact.

MASTOIDS:  Clear.

ORBITS:  Symmetric.

SOFT TISSUES:  Normal.

OTHER:  None.

IMPRESSION

Nonspecific white matter change and cerebral atrophy with findings in the right

corona radiata most likely related to progressive vascular disease.

Generalized atrophy with prominence to the ventricles and sulci.

The results were available to the emergency room immediately upon reviewing the

examination.
